Counselor’s Corner

Our middle school has a full-time counselor on site to assist in guiding the students through the middle school years. Services include individual and group guidance to help with personal, social and academic issues. The counselor works closely with staff and parents for a successful middle school transition.

Rio del Sol Counselor

Hello! I’m Mrs. Wheadon and I've been a school counselor at Rio del Sol since 2019. I grew up attending our Rio School District schools, and I have now worked for the district since 2017 and I am so excited to work with all of you! I went to CSUCI and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and continued my education at Cal Lutheran University where I obtained my Masters in School Counseling.

My favorite thing about being a school counselor is getting to work with students and teaching them life skills such as: coping skills, conflict resolution, and goal setting. In my spare time I love to spend time with my family and friends, travel, try out new restaurants and foods, and go on adventures with my son and daughter.

Hello Rio del Sol Phoenix! My name is Ms. Jester and I have the privilege of serving as your school counselor. I started working with the Rio School District in 2000 and I am really looking forward to working with all of you! I went to CSUN and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies and continued my education at Azusa Pacific University where I obtained my Masters in Educational School Counseling.

What I love most about being a school counselor is the opportunity to offer support and make a meaningful impact on students' lives. During my down time, I love to spend time with my family and friends, cooking, traveling, watching sports and playing with my grandpuppy Maverick.
